"Blow Me Away" is a song by American rock band Breaking Benjamin originally recorded specifically for the soundtrack to Halo 2. It was remixed in 2011, featuring vocals from Sydnee Duran of Valora, and released as a single once again.

Releases

The song was originally written for and released on the soundtrack to Halo 2 on November 9, 2004, and released on So Cold EP on November 23. An instrumental version of the song can also be heard in Halo 2 during the level "Gravemind", and excerpts from the song's intro can also be heard briefly throughout other levels in the game. The song was released as a digital single on February 23, 2010 and included on the Zune bonus version of the band's fourth album, Dear Agony. The remix of the song was released on June 7, 2011. The new version was also included on the band's greatest hits album, Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin.

Music video

The band was planning on filming a music video for the remixed version (despite being on hiatus due to frontman Ben Burnley's recurring illnesses) to be directed by Christopher Mills and produced by Geoff McLean.[1] However, after Ben Burnley fired both Aaron Fink and Mark Klepaski from the band, the video was assumed to be cancelled. Despite this, an official animated music video for the song was released on August 17, 2011.[2]
